The Keys To Social Media Growth

Social media growth becomes exponential with consistency and outreach.

I’ve been taking advantage of Instagram the past few months and having some big success.

This past month, I started up a few new accounts and wanted to do a little test. The purpose was to see how effective making simple steps for Instagram growth. Then compare that to our full out growth plan.

In the end, the simple consistency was effective. The full out growth system grew quicker and is more how we’d grow a business. While simple steps started slow with exponential growth over time.

It was simple. We had only a few rules…

1. Post 2 posts per day.

2. Get your content in front of new viewers… in instagrams case, we took the simple approach of using a list of hashtags.

3. Engage with your audience and comment on a handful of other accounts each day.

This took 20 minutes total each day and after 30 days, the simple account had 1,300 followers.

It might not sound like much but the interesting part of this was the way it started growing. In our first week, things were slow. We saw very little engagement and got a follower every other day.

After the first week, our posts started to get around 5 likes each and started to get 1-2 followers per day.

Around day 12, we had a post get much more engagement than our previous. Nothing crazy but it received around 30 likes compared to the usual 5-8. In week 3, we saw a significant jump in daily followers. At the beginning of the week, we saw 10-15 new followers per day. By the end of the week, it was more around 25-35 per day.

Early in week 4, I had a mid size influencer end up tagging us and sharing one of our posts. I had tagged and recommended him multiple times in week 1-3… so he liked what he saw coming from our end and by the law of reciprocity, he repaid the favor.

This brought in a few hundred followers that day alone and every day following has seen 50-100+ new followers as well.

It was very cool to watch how even the simplest steps will grow your following. This is the power of social media.

Even if that influencer didn’t share our post, we were seeing growth each week and would of been on a solid growth plan for 20 minutes work per day.

The consistency in posting content, engaging your audience, and out reaching to new audiences will hit a leap point. It grows consistently by the normal means but if you keep it up, someone with people that listen to them will share your stuff. This is when the leap and giant growth happens.
